I specially polished it for the occasion. La pulí para la ocasión.

Original mouthpiece, it has served me well. La boquilla original, me ha servido mucho.

Here we have 2 mutes, a metronome, an extra mouthpiece for exercises, and the cleaning cloth. Let’s not forget the valve oil!

Aquí vemos 2 sordinas, un metrónomo, una boquilla extra para ejercicios y un paño para limpiar. ¡Y no nos olvidemos del aceite!

When I purchased the trumpet, I chose from a wide selection of them, the second best was the famous Stradivarius Line, but it was too expensive. So I got this one. It’s classified as a student trumpet, but the tone I blow is great! There couldn’t be a better model out there for me. 10 years old, and still young and vibrant!

Cuando compre esta trompeta, probé muchas para poder tomar la mejor decisión de cual sonaba mejor. Mi segunda elección fue una trompeta de la línea famosa de Stradivarius, pero estaba muy cara. Entonces conseguí esta trompeta. Está clasificada como una trompeta para principiantes, pero el tono que saco es impresionante! No pudiera haber una mejor modelo para mí. ¡Tiene 10 años y sigue tan joven y vibrante!

Me presento.

Mi nombre es Vitaliano, o Vita, y estudio mecatrónica en el Tecnológico de Monterrey en Guadalajara, México.

He tocado la trompeta por más de 10 años ya (wow, ¿ya ha sido tanto tiempo?)

Comencé a tocar la trompeta desde el quinto grado y he estado en varios grupos musicales como bandas de marchar, ensambles, bandas y grupo de rock o música contemporánea.

Y de esto se va a tratar este blog, de poder compartir experiencias de tocar la trompeta y en un futuro cercano voy a subir videos en youtube de yo tocando o con el grupo que estoy en este momento.

Escribiré de manera conversacional, como si fueras mi amigo y estuviéramos tomando unos cafés juntos. Aunque interactúe contigo como si fueras mi amigo, hay que ser sinceros; no tengo la menor idea de quién eres. No tengo datos íntimos de tu pasado, tu edad, tus puntos de vista, tu pareja o tu educación. Por ello voy a asumir ciertas cosas para poder asegurar que la conversación se te haga personal. Asumo que:

·         Tu también tocas o disfrutas escuchar la trompeta u otros instrumentos de viento.

·         Tienes grandes sueños, pero estás preocupado que el camino que tomas nunca va a poder converger con esos sueños.

·         Vas a entrar a la universidad, estas estudiando en la universidad, o ya te graduaste de la universidad.

·         Vives en una sociedad democrática liberal donde los derechos humanos y la educación son por lo general respetados, para asegurar que tienes la posibilidad de escuchar la música que te gusta.

·         Entiendes la evolución de la música del occidente y tendencias musicales actuales.

Casi todo de lo que voy a escribir será de mis experiencias personales, y puntos de vista. Por ello lo Digo ahora, que todo lo que lo que voy a escribir debe tomarse con cuidado, ya el tocar un instrumento es un proceso de aprendizaje; primero de prueba y error y lo básico y después de agarrar técnica y pulir el tono. Todas referencias serán claramente citadas.

Hello everyone, and welcome to my first blog!
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Vitaliano, or Vita and I'm a Mechatronics Engineering student at ITESM in Guadalajara, Mexico.
I've been playing the trumpet for more than 10 years now (man, has it been that long?).
I started playing back in fifth grade, and have played in marching bands, music ensembles, concerts, jazz bands and rock bands. The point of this blog is to share my experience of playing my trumpet and what it means to be a musician. In the near future I may record some songs played by moi.

I will write this blog conversationally, as if you’re my new friend and we’re having coffee
in a local neighborhood cafe. While I will interact with you as if you’re my friend, let’s face it: I
don’t have a clue who you are. I don’t have intimate details about your past, your age, your biases, your spouse, or your education. Therefore, I need to make some general assumptions to
ensure that our conversation seems personal to you. My assumptions:
• You also play or enjoy listening to trumpets or other brass instruments.
• You have big dreams, yet you’re concerned that the road you’re traveling will never
converge with those dreams.
• You’re college-bound, college-enrolled, or college-educated.
• You live in a free, democratic society where education and free choice are standards (so you ca listen to any kind of music, you never know).
• You understand the basics of western musical instruments and musical trends throughout history.


Almost all of what i will write will be from my personal experiences and points of view, so I Disclose Now that all info is to be taken with a pinch of salt, because playing an instrument is a learning process, its about (at first) trial and error, and later polishing the king out and grabbing some techniques. If i make references, they will be clearly quoted.

Now without further ado, let's get started!
